Yes,karen_maidindevon, i can help you with that. You can either use a dongle hooked up to the tv that supports wireless casting, make sure that wifi is turned on, on your tv, and that both macbook pro and sony tv are on the same wifi network, then look for an App on the Sony tv that lets you do that... if all you want to do is display photos, videos, play music on your sony tv, that’s easy enough to do... look on the side/back of your macbook pro. There should be 2-4 output ports/jacks/sockets. So you’ll need an adapter cable that goes from the port on your macbook pro and ends up with an HDMi female end. Make sure the adapter supports hdmi 2.0, hdcp 2.2 and passes thru audio. Might have to be active. Buy an hdmi 2.0 cable that also supports hdcp 2.2... i usually use monoprice as their stuff is good and cheap. Shut macpro down. Shut sony bravia tv down. Plug. One end of HDMI cable into HDMI port/socket/jack On back or side of TV. Connect other end to female HDMI socket on adapter. Plug adaptor + connected cable into MacBook Pro output port . Turn on both MacBook Pro and Sony Bravia TV at the same time. Press the input button on TVs remote to change HDMI input. On the MacBook Pro, go to system preferences, then displays, then external displays, then hold down the option key and click on detect displays. Your Sony Bravia TV should show up as one of the outputs. Click on mirroring in the display preferences. Now whatever you doShould show up on the Sony Bravia TV. Otherwise, get a USB stick or thumb drive, insert it into a MacBook Pro. You may also need a USB C to A adapter. Format USB stick as either Fat 32 or ExFat. you can do that under disk utility which is in the utilities folder somewhere on your hard drive. After your MacBook Pro has Formatted the USB stick appropriately, drag and drop the photos or files you wish to view into the USB stick. If you double click on the stick itself, it will open and show up as a folder or removable hard drive. You can now drag and drop those files to the USB stick itself. When you are done putting files on a USB stick, choose safe eject and wait until it has ejected itself safely, orJust drag and drop the USB stick icon left to the trashcan and let go. Wait until it has said that ejection has has finished.Do not just yank it out of the Mac Pro which could damage the Mac Pro and the USB stick itself. Plug the USB C adaptor onto the end of the USB c stick/Thumb drive. Find a USB socket on the back or on the side of the Sony Bravia TV. There should be a built-in app in the TVfor playing or viewing photos, videos or music. All you have to do is get the app on the TV running and then point itTo Where the files are stored, in this case on the USB stick which is plugged into your Sony Bravia TV.
