COVID tracker app

I updated my iphone X to iOS 13.7. In the settings it shows Exposure notifications. When I turn on the the exposure notifications and select my State (Pennsylvania) it states that your region has an exposure notification app and tells you to go to the app store. Going to the app store a public service announcement tells that only five states have the contact tracing app available, AL, ND, NV, VA and WY. So, either Apple has the wrong information or I am missing something. Please help. I have tried doing a search on the store for covid tracing apps and Pennsylvania does not show up.

Thanks

Just an update for NC. The NC State Dept. of Health App for Exposure Notifications is now in the App Store and I was able to enable Notifications on my iPhone XS.

So check periodically to see if your state has finally released their app. The Exposure Notifications setting had been saying my State supported the system for weeks, but it was only today the release of the App was mentioned in the local news and showed up in the App store.

This article was updated just yesterday - https://9to5mac.com/2020/09/14/covid-19-exposure-notification-api-states/

My State (NC) and by another poster here, NY, also come up under the exposure notifications setting as saying that it is supported, when it actually is not. The State Health Departments are the ones dropping the ball here and not supporting the API that Apple and Google built into iOS and Android.

Not really surprising given the politicization of a public health issue here I guess. As the saying goes “only in America”. Unfortunately in this case.

Yeah, sorry. This whole thing has been a political Uber failure. Not even just here, but elsewhere as the resurgence raises it ugly (but honestly, not unexpected) head in countries all over the world.

It’s 1918/19 all over again. As the saying goes “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it (George Santayana)”.

The stupid Sturgis Bike rallier’s alone are now estimated to have added over 266,000 new cases around the nation - about one for everyone who was there, in a huge crowd, not wearing a mask, claiming their “right” to party.

And as a scientist, I get that estimate is extreme and unlikely accurate. But we know Sturgis pulls participants from almost every state and elsewhere and we do know that some of those upon returning home were infected and spread it. So the number itself doesn’t matter to me. It’s about people being stupid, selfish and thoughtless in their own activities during a global pandemic. Your supposed right to “party” doesn’t come at the price of possibly placing entire communities at risk.
