Can I add another year protection to product ?

I want to repair my Apple Watch but I don’t count with the right money to get it fix, so I was wondering if apple care can be added ? Screen is broken

Can I get Apple care for a product I already have? I got an Apple Watch as a gift. I recently broke the screen and am sending it in for repair. I didn’t realize it wasn’t covered under Apple care. My boyfriend had coverage in his phone and assumed they would have applied the Apple care when he asked them to when he purchased the watch for me. I paid out of pocket for the repair, but is there any way I can get coverage for any future accidents that may occur?

apple care has to be purchased within 60 days after one bought the product
