Protect & Prolong life of your iPhone's Battery:

  1. About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch ...
  2. Batteries - Maximising Performance - Apple (IN)
  3. iPhone Battery and Performance

Try some of these options too.

  1. Avoid Screen Mirroring
  2. Put on Low Power Mode
  3. Put Auto Lock On (1 min):- with low power mode it will be 30 Sec
  4. Put Auto Answer Off
  5. Disable Push notifications for apps you do not use often
  6. Keep your iPhone Face down to prevent notifications to light up screen
  7. Enable Auto Brightness:- Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Auto-Brightness [Enable]
  8. Manually lower brightness from Control Center
  9. If you Want to watch continuous Video. Stream it on TV or a Monitor
  10. Don't force close apps; Apps which are not on frontend screen are paused by the system to save energy. Apps require more energy to re-launch. Apps which are open in the background use large memory is a myth and quitting them is counterproductive
  11. Location services to be allowed only while using the app
  12. Set your iPhone to fetch email and calendar data from internet less frequently
  13. Turning off Background App Refresh
  14. Charge before it drops below 20-30%
  15. Try connecting to trusted Wifi where ever available in stead of Cellular
  16. Enable Airplane mode in areas with bad cellular and wifi coverage. Your phone keeps trying for reconnection with the missing / weak network. This uses lot of energy
  17. Switch off Wifi & Bluetooth while in Roaming or Not in Range
  18. Enable "Wifi Assist" : Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data > Wi-Fi Assist [Enable]
  19. Periodically Check your Battery Health (Settings > Battery > Battery Health)

I've had every iPhone since they came out almost, I've never had an update that caused my phone to be rendered useless. After one hour off the charger I am down to 40% battery, it's too warm to hold, Health app that shows active for literally 1 minute in a 24 hour period takes over 70% battery usage and shows using over 65PB's of memory (no, not GB or TB, PB's). Please, this is a issue with iOS 14 and Apple's answer is I might need to send it in for repair?

Just got a new SE 2020. I downloaded the latest ios14 on it and it’s destroyed ! This thing crawls like an iPhone from 15 years ago ! I’ve switched off everything I can find that’s surplus to my needs like location services and background refresh, got rid of apps I don’t use etc but it’s still utterly sh*te ! I am literally watching the battery go down as I type this now. And as for the camera (which is great) & related apps - which was my main reason for getting this phone, I can hardly use it for more than 45 mins. I am so disappointed with this phones longevity of performance on iOS 14. Apple need to sort it out they really do, it’s just appalling.

In my case, I was perfectly happy with my iPhone 7. I am a very basic user (listen to radio, podcasts and read the news. Battery usage under iOS 13 lasted to about 4 or 5pm (which in my case is fairly consistent usage). Now i updated to iOS 14.2 and the battery is dead by 10am!!!! how can this be with the same usage. I hear and listen to all the switch this off, do this, don't use this part etc etct, which basically is saying stop using your device for hundreds of things which does not make sense. It has got so bad that I have gone back to my iPhone 5 which is a whole lot better. Come on apple, please resolve this, Unfortunately I cannot afford a new device (and a bunch of friends have gone back to ios13. However, this might cause me to seek alternatives if i cannot use which is sad give that I have been an apple user since iPhone 3g. Over to you apple, lets see if you care!!!!!!

Not me. As you said. There is very little from apple diagnostics or an update to help, short of practically shutting down every single feature on my previously working very well iphone 7 and 8, i am not falling for the ploy and soon on. Sad, but the reslity us that apple only care about customers who want to buy new devices. My fiends are trustworthy and pionting me in the direction of phones that work and i will be soon be experimenting with other non apple products. Not a full divorce, but if there is no trust and it does not work, why bother. All good things come to an end. Ps my iphone 5 is working great under ios 9 and apple is doing a fantastic job of reducing my screen time too..!!!!!
