I just noticed a red dot next to my battery percentage symbol when I was making a WhatsApp call. This is the first time I’m seeing this ! I just downloaded IOS 14 today. Can someone kindly enlighten me 🙏🏾

There is a red dot beside my battery on the screen of my Apple iPhone. How do I get this to disappear? Why is it on?

I don’t think there’s anything to worry about! It’s only activated whenever your microphone is on.
This only started when I downloaded the latest update (IOS 14).

Along with the red dot I can’t hear the other person nor can they hear me. I’m getting so frustrated

You can get rid of it by never, ever using anything that uses the microphone. So, don't make calls, use Siri. Don't use speech-to-text.

There’s no getting rid of it! It only comes on whenever you’re making a call or making use of the microphone. It should automatically go off once you’re done making the call.
My phone gets excessively hot when being charged or I’m using for a while? Also I’m having problems connecting to WiFi at home which was never a problem before.
As far as I’m aware, the red dot will only appear whenever your microphone is in use ie when you’re on a call or recording.
You can start a new thread on any other issues you’re having.
