ISSUE WITH STACKING LARGE WIDGETS (iOS 14)

Am I the only one chasing down widgets to stack them? The large news widget is the one I try to stack with more large news widgets, but when I try to do this the large widget I want to stack Speedy Gonzalez’s it’s way to a billion new blank pages instead of recognizing that no I do not want a ton of blank pages created, I want to stack you. So there am playing hide and seek with my iPhone thinking about the days when iOS wasn’t so emotional. iOS developers, please know that no one’s goal is to open up multiple blank pages ever. Please fix this issue. I just want to stack my **** widgets. And if possible I would LOOoooOooVe to have more control over how long I want a news widget to show its topic before switching to a new topic.

iPhone XS Max, iOS 14

I had this problem too, and I just figured out how to make it work! You just have to use two fingers. Once you have the two large widgets, move the first large widget over to the other page the second widget is on and press a finger to the second widget before it can Speedy Gonzalez away! Then you should be able to stack them.

Here's what I do to avoid large widgets blowing out your folders/apps:

Creating large widgets:

If you have not yet created your large widget, do so in the leftmost widget page-- you know, that page that had the original widgets before we could create and move them onto the home screen. Then move your large widget to your desired homescreen page. The "widget" page seems to prevent the blowout.

If/when you need to put all your blown-out apps back into folders:

Move your large widget(s) to the leftmost widget page-- you know, that page that had the original widgets before we could create and move them onto the home screen. Then fix all folders and apps. Then move the large widget to the desired homescreen page. (It looks like moving apps and folders around your large widget if it's on a homescreen page just blows everything out again, but moving the large widget afterwards doesn't.)

If you need to tinker around with an already-created large widget:

If you should decide to tinker around with your large widget, first move it to the leftmost "original widget page" and tinker around with it. Then when you're done, move it back to your desired homepage. It looks like if you tinker with your large app while it's in one of your homescreen pages, you're likely to blow out your folders and its contents.

At least this is what my experience tells me.
