Typing lag in Notes app on iOS 14

Moving all my notes off of iCloud seemed to help. I have them all saved locally to the phone and that seems to work it’s fine for me. Give it a shot, lemme know how it works for you.

I did the newer update something like ios 14.2 🤣😂. I was skeptical but it doesn’t seem to lag anymore i can text pics and upload from sites and send to others. This 14 did my 11 Pro dirty but my sis 8 plus was good with it. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Go to settings and go to messages toggle iMessage slide the green button off then back on. Seems to be a working

Reset the keyboard dictionary in settings.

iOS 14.0.1 just rolled out. I am updating. Will see if the issue is addressed.

I’m sorry in my last reply I typed the wrong name of the update. My phone updated to 14.0.1 and with that the issues have been resolved.

Try resetting the keyboard dictionary. It’s not perfect but it’s much better

I turned off auto app unloading and it solved the issue for me, maybe you can try that too? Before the update to iOS14 the typing lag was non-existent. Cheers!

I haved figured that the lag is at the end of big notes. Big is approx 10 A4 sides in Pages.

While using an iPad 9.7 Pro & Logitech CREATE Backlit Keyboard Case for 9.7-inch iPad Pro, any time the note gets more than a few hundred characters, typing starts to lag. It acts like it’s refreshing the entire note each time. The longer the note, the longer the delay. After a few thousand characters I can type entire sentences if I don’t look at the screen. Other programs (Safari, iMessage, UPS) don’t show any difference. Seems: Notes was ‘upgraded’ to refresh the note with each keystroke and only tested for 40 seconds with 100 character notes.

First I can’t have notes from a second account - had to share each, individual, single, separate note. Then old mini server can’t share notes because it can’t upgrade to something that isn’t backwards compatible on Apple servers. Then Notes is arbitrarily changed and not tested enough. Person who wrote it should have to type code in it. After 2 pages and waiting 3 seconds to see a variable name t-y-p-e-d-o-u-t, I bet they’d fix it.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max & Notes is lagging so bad it feels like the data is being split & sent out... does anyone know if this latest update is capturing data or sending to the cloud differently?

All of the fixes mentioned seem to help for a short time then the lag appears again. I've read they are working on it but this type of lag has been on ongoing issue for almost every IOS. This is my first time experiencing it though and it sucks.

Same here. I’ll start typing a text and it’ll just sit there for a second registering keyboard presses, but not actually typing anything. Then, it will all of a sudden catch up.
