iOS 14: Wrong Caller ID on Incoming Call

I discovered something new . The phone rang and it showed the wrong caller (it showed the caller id of the previous call) on the iphone .At t bhe same time it rang on the ipad but the ipad showed the right caller id. Only closing the whatsapp app seems to help with the problem. I do hope that the next update will solve this very big issue

Doesn’t look like it did for me and now I had to restart the phone for my pods to work. But the issue I have is that it’s showing names and not numbers for contacts that aren’t stored. This isn’t right. I never asked to see names and I’ve become accustomed to knowing numbers believe it or not. So when the caller id populates random names it affects me badly. Any solution would be helpful.

Well did you try switching of the banner for the incoming call????... they introduced that with 14 and that is when the problem started.. as i said above i have not had the problem for several days after i did 2 things.. 1 was updating to 14.2 and second was to switch from settings->Phone->Incoming call -> switch from banner to full screen...

As i said, it stopped doing it after i did both... (but of course maybe it just paused doing it because some other things did not happen....

Yeah, not exactly. My phone is brand new and has 14.2 so it’s still an issue. I don’t use What’sApp but I do use Teams. Maybe there is a conflict between how these types of apps are using the call feature and something is caching in the caller ID. Just spitballing here

i too not using watsapp calls but i m using Teams since 6 months and only started facing this issue last month onwards after i suffered for more than 3 weeks i just installed 14.2 which actually works well for this issue , i updated to 14.2 8 days back and till now i m not facing this issue so surely 14.2 helps u on this.

Exactly bro i too got a call early morning 3 am from office but it actually showed my mom name and 2 days back my mom told me that granny was sick and after the call i really felt tensed and shocked during 3am call but it is actually from my office that moment i literally died , actually a bug in ios which made me mentally ill and affected me personally a lot

try following.. (it stoppen when i updated from 14.1 to 14.2 and wheni changed this setting)

settings->Phone->Incoming call -> switch from banner to full screen...

it was the banner setting in 14.0 when it started...

i dont know what i did tomakeit stop, but at least it stopped un this setting AND update to 14.2 are the only 2 things i changed.

I am having same issue on Verizion. Deleted the call filter app still showing United States for every call

Incoming call show the call ID from the the last number I called.

It shows caller I’d of the WhatsApp call done before instead

I’m also experiencing this issue after updating to ios14. A call coming in from LINE will display as my last outgoing whatsapp call.

You aren't alone bud - I have iphone 7 and 8+ both running ios14 and noticed the issue today

Will hv to wait for apple to get this fixed and its absolutely not resolved at the moment !

I thought, Incoming call show the call ID from the the last number I called or received call.
