I am not getting sound notifications on text messages nor is the banner showing up on my locked screen. I have an iPhone 11 and just downloaded the latest iOS 14. Have reset my phone twice now. Please advise. Thank you.

I've also been fighting this notification issue for months on my iPhone 11 Pro. Apple no help. I discovered that turning off bluetooth on my phone fixed the problem (allowed text notifications to sound and appear, whether the phone was locked or not). But with bluetooth on, notifications only sounded & appeared with the phone unlocked. Obviously, I didn't want to leave bluetooth off all the time.
I also came to realize this issue started when I got a new Apple Watch 6 a few months ago. Coincidence? Taking the watch on and off didn't help. And with the watch on, it didn't sound notifications either.
But the posting from StubbornPixie got me thinking about killing the mirror function on the watch for the Messages app. So, iPhone Watch app>Messages>"Custom" "Notifications Off" seems to have SOLVED THE PROBLEM for me. My iPhone 11 Pro now notifies me of incoming text messages with bluetooth on. I realize my watch won't ping with messages until Apple fixes the root problem, but at least I won't be missing message notifications altogether.

I don’t get notifications while on the phone, headphones or Bluetooth.
So, I went to notifications, messages, turned off notifications, rebooted my phone and turned notifications back on. Seems to be working so far. I also turned grouping off.

This is a me too but I am getting messages notifications on my iPad, on iPadOS 14.01 but randomly not on my iPhone on 14.01. Frustrating and I can’t carry my iPad in my pocket.
Kenya, I'm not sure if you were asking me since you replied to Scottywwww, but the notification is in the shortcuts. I'm assuming you changed icons, made widgets like I did.
I have over 60 shortcuts I had completed to use the photo for that app. I only needed phone, messages, mail & contacts. Assuming you looked at the link above (the 2nd one), yes it worked. And I changed just those 4 that I wanted to receive notifications. The second part of the shortcut looks like the attached. Within the shortcut go to the three dots in the upper right corner. This is where it says add to Home Screen. Look down and my notification is in orange. And it has "allow messages to use" notifications. Mine was of and I toggled to turn on. Then I rebooted, and it worked.
Just downloaded 14.2 Beta version and notifications are now working once again
I Had this issue all i did was go to settings, General, go down to reset, and click on reset all settings it should work
P.S. this also works if you changed your date and time
Try factory resetting your phone and if not I can’t help I’m just saying what worked for me gl bro
Just press and hold in a text and this pops up
Back up to iCloud and restoring through iTunes is what worked for me too. I get all of my notifications now, even when on Bluetooth.
