iOS 14 text notification issues

How do you see that and how do you turn that off. So far as long as my Apple Watch is connected I get no notices alert for any messages when my phone is locked. I even have bypass on for texts for my wife but it still doesn’t alert on my phone, only my watch.

IOS 14, every since updating i sometimes don’t receive a notification when i get a message? I first thought bc it was a pinned conversation but i unpinned them and I still dont. It happens here and there. No sound, no banner. Nothing unless i click on the conversation to check the message and it will be sitting there 4-30 minutes till i notice...

is this going to get fixed??????? Been having this issue since I updated

Same. It happens usually just with one person, someone I message very frequently every day. I have to keep going to the message thread periodically to check for new messages because there is absolutely no notification or indication they messaged whatsoever. I have an 11pro max with iOS14.3. Super frustrating.

I have just installed iOS 14.3 update an hour ago.

Unfortunately, this problem still persist. Such a disappoinment that Apple just want to focus on releasing shiny objects instead of ensuring the fundamentals working.

For now, all of us will continue to suffer. Apple doesn't really care.

Hey Apple, fix this problem. It’s been a few months and still with the recent 14.3 update and there’s no actual fix to the problem. It’s getting frustrating. For one of the biggest tech companies in the world, how are you not able to riddle this?

Same here. Ever sense I updated to iOS 14 I’ve had problems with my notifications from text. Most of the time no ring/no banner/ no nothing comes up. But if I click on my messages from my wife they are there and get this on her phone it says they are read as soon as she sends them. I don’t have my Apple account connected to anything other than my phone and I’ve done all the little things it says to try. It has to be a software problem from the update. Apple needs to get on this ASAP. For all us men out there you know my pain when my wife says I read her message and never got back to her lol

It’s stunning to me that the product owner of messages hasn’t prioritized this issue for a program increment 3 point releases after the initial I don’t believe for a moment Apple is not aware of this all I can say is the squeakier the wheel the more likely it gets grease

Hey Apple, I just wanted to stop by and say how much I love not getting notified when someone texts me. I cannot think of one issue that has occurred because of this update. You guys should promote the person who came up with this brilliant idea. Based off the other comments I’ve read, everyone else seems to love it too. Great job guys. Seriously, you guys rock. Im definitely not being sarcastic and at no point am I hoping the worst for whoever gave this update the go ahead.

Running into this issue as well. Started with the iOS 14 update. No updates have fixed it. It seems to occur mostly when my phone (iphone8Plus) is locked. No vibration alerts, the screen won’t turn on like it did before, but once I unlock my phone, there’ll be the message notifications of all the ons I missed. What’s worse, This is also affecting my MacBook Pro (High Sierra). iMessages don’t show up on there either unless they show up on my phone. If my phone doesn’t vibrate or display a message on the Lock Screen then I won’t get a notion my Laptop. Very strange. I use AirPods and have announce messages turned on, but even that is all messed up and barely works with iOS 14.

Me too and I have watched the red circle appear and then dissolve away and disappear. It’s causing me issues with friends and family members who think I’m ignoring them. I have an XR so it’s not limited to the 12.

This is still happening to me. It is now to the point where some photos I get sent in group chats are not coming through. Not sure if this has anything to do with the iOS 14, but either way I am missing important notifications from work. My spouse and many other coworkers who have an iPhone and updated are having the same issues. I hope this gets resolved soon.

This one seems to have helped me with notifications. I just realized that I do not have 14.3. I still have 14.2.

My iPhone 11 did not yet tell me about the update. Mine are automatic. I’m a little surprised but now I don’t want to download it...

that's awesome that 14.3 fixed it for you. However, as u can see from pages back in this thread that it did not fix it for many others, myself included. I'm hoping they continue to work on this issue in the next update and that it continues to get visibility through the various blogs and websites. The WSJ also ran an article about this issue prior to 14.3 being released. The more continued visibility, the better the chances are that this gets completely resolved.

I wasn’t actually affected by it anyway and I actually prefer 14.2. What else have you tried? Have you contacted your network provider? I may have already asked this, but couldn’t remember if I have or not.

The text bug issue happens on wifi and/or a cell signal (3G, 4G/LTE, 5G). It happens with SMS and iMESSAGE. Resetting network settings and/or updating them also does nothing for the issue. Many of us have already been down that road. Thanks for the input though.
