iOS 14 text notification issues

Dude, their advisors are a joke, lately they are condescending, even though they have absolutely no idea what to do, which is even more infuriating. Did switch to Samsung and yesterday I get a call saying it is a hardware issue. Maybe once I try it and see if it is a hardware issue will let you know. I'm having the same issue that I'm getting no notifications of text/imessages. It doesn't show up on the banner and I have to open my phone and check messages to see if I've missed any texts. This only started happening after the last software update.

Due to how the world is right now, I have to use my phone for work and not being notified when I get a message creates delays and frustration for the people I work with.

I hope this can be resolved promptly.

My notifications were working fine, but my phone wouldn’t save the name of a new contact. So I googled and followed the instructions to turn off and on my phone. Ever since, I never get a text notification! luckily my phone now saves names for new contacts, but I don’t get any notifications for people that text me. I go hours before I realize they texted me back. It’s so frustrating.

I too have had notification issues not just with text's but any notifications, I've checked all settings several times, turned off all notification settings on my watch and still no notifications. Also, for literally at least three months, my ringer volume switches from Ringer to Silent Mode constantly, sometimes if I press one of the volume buttons it will switch to Silent Mode. I've reported this to Apple three or four times with every update!

When do long-term non-fixed bugs, especially when they effect crucial daily work, become a class action suit issue? I know we live in a very litigious society, however, these kind of bugs are not acceptable! What about those in emergency situation's where notifications can mean life or death...

P.S. I'm currently on 14.3 and as I type this, alerts appear, but there is no sound for any of them!

I updated to iOS 14.3 last night, but I still don't get notifications for iMessage. I already tried everything and nothing worked. Very frustrating and therefore I can't really enjoy my new iPhone 12 Pro.

I just updated to 14.3 also.

I *used to* miss about 90% of text notifications and get 10%.

After update, so far I'm getting more notifications than before, but it's still broken.

Phone still RECEIVES the texts. It just doesn't NOTIFY me that they were received. No sound. No vibration. No screen wakeup.

Maybe better? But definitely not fixed. :/

Hmmm. Based on this and news from others about the iPhone 12, that answers the question of whether I"d want a more expensive phone that also doesn't work!

I am not happy! I understand that the

14.3 does not address the issue. This is outrageous! I feel a different phone other than iPhone in my future...

I have sent DMs to Apple Support via Twitter. You do get a response, though whether it’s from a human or a robot, I don’t know.

I also searched Twitter for “text notifications IOS14 and added to that.

I am so sick of this now that latest updated had failed to address issue.

I trying changing the default text alert tone and that seemed to help for a day. It is very frustrating as I use this phone for work and it is unprofessional for me not to respond for hours. I just updated to 14.3 this morning and still having the same problem.

Consider yourself lucky that you are getting Notifications on your watch! I'm only missing intermittent Notifications, but when it happens they don't go to the Watch either

Today I've finally noticed this issue.

Thought it was an issue with my Apple Watch, factory reset it.

Then I noticed I get all texts/SMS from Messages delivered, but they don't light up the phone or play a sound when the phone is locked.

Sometimes it works again, but most of the times it doesn't.

Spent an hour chatting with Customer Support until I found this; customer support didn't even mention this thread or that there are reported issues with notifications in the latest version of iOS.

My issue is that after updates I can't read notificatios, it just doesnt let me slide into the notification to read it or remove it, it will slide into spotlight or camera... Idk what happened but I didnt change anything.

I am having that exact some issue. This year I have purchased the new iPhone se 2020 and I am not receiving the sound notification nor is the banner showing up which is extremely annoying as I am always just having to check all of my messages to see who has contacted me and sometimes because I don’t realise I won’t see someone’s message for 2 days or so. But then again sometimes it does work and I will get notifications but recently it’s been happening less and less and I am just having to rely on myself checking my messages
