I am not getting sound notifications on text messages nor is the banner showing up on my locked screen. I have an iPhone 11 and just downloaded the latest iOS 14. Have reset my phone twice now. Please advise. Thank you.

I've also been fighting this notification issue for months on my iPhone 11 Pro. Apple no help. I discovered that turning off bluetooth on my phone fixed the problem (allowed text notifications to sound and appear, whether the phone was locked or not). But with bluetooth on, notifications only sounded & appeared with the phone unlocked. Obviously, I didn't want to leave bluetooth off all the time.
I also came to realize this issue started when I got a new Apple Watch 6 a few months ago. Coincidence? Taking the watch on and off didn't help. And with the watch on, it didn't sound notifications either.
But the posting from StubbornPixie got me thinking about killing the mirror function on the watch for the Messages app. So, iPhone Watch app>Messages>"Custom" "Notifications Off" seems to have SOLVED THE PROBLEM for me. My iPhone 11 Pro now notifies me of incoming text messages with bluetooth on. I realize my watch won't ping with messages until Apple fixes the root problem, but at least I won't be missing message notifications altogether.

Yep, same here. If anything, it's actually worse with iOS 15. I have an iPhone, iPad, and Mac and notifications are all over the place. Typically "Apple related" notifications (e.g., Messages) are delayed severely on the iPad and Mac after I see them on the iPhone. With respect to other Apps and their various notifications, the delay is measured in many seconds if not several minutes depending on the App and particular notification.
Like others, I'm unsure what Apple did along the way, but I began noticing these delays at some point in 2020. The fact they can't correct this widespread bug is absolutely pathetic.
My phone will not let messages through! I updated to iOS 14 and I can’t get heads-up notifications from my bank or from my investing apps I can’t get verification codes from anything I try to sign up for. This has been going on for 3 weeks and it’s unbelievable.
I called apple and this is part of the update. I was told to have everyone leave feedback that they don't like this change because they read it.

I am having the same problem I get no notifications of any kind for my messages but only from one person everyone else works fine and I don’t have them muted or silent

this happens whenever i advance my phones clock to gain extra lives in candy crush, i dont know if this helps. i just forgot how i corrected the problem

Didn’t want to go nuclear. I’m not getting notifications when on conference calls. Was that your issue?
i called Apple support and they did a ticket and said the engineers were working on it.
