Ringer and Alerts Volume Issue - iOS 14

Since upgrading to iOS 14, the Ringer and Alerts volume is randomly turning all the way down and sometimes back up by itself. I use my phone as my alarm so it bugs me if my alarm is super quiet and I oversleep. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes?

Literally same I’ve had this issue for a day now I’m so sad :( literally it keeps going down but when I get out of the settings app and go back it appears again. I think it’s just a glitch and hopefully iOS 14.1 fixes it all. Sorry I couldn’t help much :(

For me I turn my Ring/Silent switch to silent (top left corner button on iphone 11 pro) - even on silent setting I will sometimes get sounds, like the click when you lock, i hear the locking click even on silent. if I toggle this button from silent to Ring, then back to silent it will start properly suppressing the lock click sounds (and other sounds such as notification related sounds).

This is highly obnoxious because sometimes I am up late at night doing work and walk to the bathroom and my should be silent iphone starts making all this loud noise and it wakes up my sleeping children.

This may be helpful – I was infuriated with various changes to the alarm in iOS 14, but then found that you can use the Bedtime feature, which, strangely, has (sort of) been moved from the clock app to the Health app, but, at least after you set it for the first time, it shows at the top of the regular alarms + it can be adjusted there, so you CAN:

-set different alarms for different days

-use sounds that are only available in bedtime but not in the regular app, including Early Riser sound (the ONLY morning alarm i can tolerate)

-adjust alarm volume separate from phone volume!! This last item may solve the problem that you’re talking about here.

I have a similar problem. In my case, I like the alerts and other sounds level very low. But regularly, without me doing anything, the volume is maxed out.

Generally speaking, I find the handling of sound in iOS a disaster. Ring sound and other alert sounds volume should be handled separately. I know that simplicity goes a long way, but it's irritating not to be able to manage these sounds differently.

FWIW, I had the setting "Change with Buttons" which was activated (use the volume buttons to adjust ringer and alerts volume). But these buttons also can be used to take a photo in the Camera. So I'm wondering if by taking a picture by means of the volume buttons, this does not modify the volume. Anyway, I'll switch this off to see if there's an improvement...

I'm on iOS 14.4.
