Why does my iPhone screen have a red dot in iOS 14?

There is a red dot if you selected Light or orange if Dark is selected.

Yes, don’t use the microphone or camera. That is the only way to turn off the warning that your microphone and camera are on.

Yes please do compare the RED DOT to my RED hang up button and maybe the RED battery symbol. And then PLEASE explain WHY it is RED during a call and not ORANGE.

It looks orange to me in your screen shot. But no matter what color it is, all it means is that your microphone is on. To prove this to yourself tap the MUTE button.

OK, so it’s red. Have it however you want it. But that doesn’t change the fact that it means that your mic is on.

I think that’s on your wallpaper. That isn’t where the mic red dot would be.

My question is everytime that red dot appears my call won’t go through. Why is that if its the microphone?

Coincidence. If the call connected and the red dot didn’t appear you couldn’t have a conversation because the mic would be off.

I have not selected light. I checked. The red dot is there.

I don’t believe that. If the dot was on and you dragged down from the upper left corner at the top of the screen it would show in red what the app or function was.

The red dot is an orange dot that looks red with certain backgrounds, and means the same thing as the orange dot.

It was red and orange on the same background
