After upgrading my iPhone to iOS 14 and watch to watch OS 14 the map data is gone for past and new workoputs. Location Services On>Apple Watch Workout>While using App set. Maps that appeared on old workouts are also now blank.
Same issues here too! Apple support have said they are aware of the issue and it should be repairs in the next update!
I have the exact same problem - even the route of my previous workouts display only the starting location. It seems to be a bigger SW problem, since other users are reporting this as well...
I‘ve tried unpairing / re-pairing, resetting / restoring (AW + iPhone) and setting up as new ( AW + iPhone) - nothing seems to work.
I guess we need to wait until Apple fixes this issue with a future SW update.
In the meantime we need to address this issue in a single community thread - this one has the most replies so far (please follow up there):
No you shouldn’t lose anything, it will let you restore the watch backup from your phone. You will need to re-authorise your cards used for Apple Pay by entering the card security but everything else should be as you originally had it. It’s not a quick process so make sure your watch is charged and you have a couple of hours available.
None of my activities are recording gps data after upgrading to watchOS 7 and iOS 14 either. I have checked all setting and can find no error. I have power cycled both the watch and the iPhone.
all my past activities do however still show the gps data. It is only new recordings that are a problem.
I'm afraid if I re-pair the watch everything will be lost
I’m having the exact same problem. Again, all ‘old’ workouts which DID have a map have now lost such. Pretty frustrating
Yes my past activities still show the map data. Only the new activities are missing the map. In the big thread lower down some suggest re-pairing fixes it. Others say nothing fixes it. I’m giving it a go with repairing now as I just arrived on holiday and really want to get the maps on my walks. It’s a bit of a disaster.
Have you checked your past workouts? My old workouts showed the map data until tis update but they, too, are now missing.
