Aerial screen saver black

I called Apple. She had me try one thing - sign out of my Apple ID in User & Accounts- iCloud.

Go To screensaver settings- change the download new ones to weekly

Restart ATV - go back and change to daily. This gave me one more , but still no underwater.

You can try that as well.

She said it might take a couple of days to load more and if I don’t have any underwater by Wednesday I can call back with my case number. So I will do that.

Same here. When having a black screen swaping left of right sometimes starts a new screen saver but often only shows the title and a black screen. Tried to move to photos and back to aerials but that didn’t fix the problem.

when having a black screen it also does not progress after time to the next one so it seems like the aerial is not started at all and the appletv hangs there.

I’ve tried switching to photos as well, then back to aerials. Does not work. Now I’ll just use Apple Photos Nature, they aren’t bad but I preferred the aerials. Funny it works on my older ATV 4k. If this isn’t a common enough problem, it might never be addressed. I’m tempted to try another reset

Same here. All screensavers are black except one. Last update did not fix this issue.

mine aren’t working either. I was stuck with only downtown LA. Did a full reset, thought it was fixed when I finally saw another one but it’s not. Can’t get any underwater at all. It gives me 4 and I never get any more than that. I’m not out of storage space, I have loads of space left. I’m ready to switch it out with my bedroom one which is ok.

A Reset might help with your issue , but you’ll have to set up all your apps again. It restores it to factory settings. The Reset is in settings.

I eventually solved this by doing a reset + restore of the AppleTV (4K). This 'wiped' the entire box. However, because I had "single homescreen" configured in the AppleTV before I did this I was able to restore pretty quickly to all I had. During the reinstallation tvOS again asks wether you want to enable single homescreen and this basically restores (acts as backup/restore).

After this process all screensavers work again, presumably because the reset+wipe forces to redownload all movies.
