Can't see USB printer. Reset printing system does nothing. Drivers all installed.

Using Catalina but happening also before upgrade.

One day my USB Brother DCP 1512 printer/scanner stopped working on my MacBook Pro (13inch 2017)

I cannot see the printer in the list under printers. When I click the + symbol the list in default is empty and I cannot search or add anything.

I tried the Reset Printing System in the Printers & Scanners preferences and does not work.

Printer and Scanner drivers are installed and up to date. Printer is connected.

I don't know what to do. I've done extensive search for someone with the same exact issue with no avail.

Any help?

Hi,

Would it be correct to assume that you have read the following articles?

Do you have access to another computer (Mac or Windows PC) in order to check whether the printer can be recognised there?
