Macbook air freezes when playing games and audio in game "loops".

So when I play games like league of legends or minecraft, periodically (every month or so) my macbook air completely freezes and the audio that the game (or discord call) was making loops if it was like beeping. It's like Da, Da, Da, Da. I believe it's not the CPU nor the RAM because I have every other applications closed (Expect for discord), when I'm playing. The only way to resolve this is to hold down the power button and it restarts my mac. I tried doing SMC and PRAM resets but it's still no use. Also I keep my game graphic qualities to the lowest and change every setting in the "video" tab the lowest.

Two of my other friends also use their macbook air/pro to play but they never encountered this issue + they have other applications open as well.

If anyone knows what's going on, please tell me because it's been happening for the past 8-10 months.

Hello Todugo,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

It appears that when playing games like League of Legends or Minecraft, your MacBook Air will freeze and make a beeping like sound. You already tried resetting the SMC and PRAM, without affect. Let's start by taking a look at the following support article to sort out issues with app freezing:

If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly on Mac - Apple Support

Best regards.

Todugo ,

If the steps in that article haven't helped with your issue, then you will want to make sure you have a current back up of your computer and then reinstall the macOS from macOS Recovery. When you work through the reinstall article below, at step 2 you do not want to erase your disk. This will allow the macOS to reinstall without affecting the data on the computer.

Back up your Mac

How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support

Cheers.

Thanks for replying,

I already read that article before and nothing helped with my situation.

Is it possible for a loud fan or a high CPU temperature to interfere with applications freezing? Generally the CPU temperature ranges from about 70 to 90 degrees celsius when playing either of those games. (The information about my CPU temperature was retrieved from IStatMenus)
