iPhone XR Screen Dim

I have an iPhone XR running IOS 13.7 and the ‘raise to wake’ option turned on. Within the last few days I’ve noticed sometimes when I pick the phone up the screen is very dim even thought it’s set to max brightness. Twice this has happened, once when the phone was plugged in to charge and the other time it was unplugged with full battery. Putting the phone to sleep and waking it up again with the power button resolves the issue on its own, but has anyone else had this issue? Is there a more definite fix for it?

Greetings, LeahD1215.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having issues with your display dimming unexpectedly. We can certainly understand why you’d want to resolve this.

To start, check to see if auto brightness is enabled in Settings > Display & Brightness. If so, disable it and enable it again. Test to see if the issue continues.

Also, check out the information provided, here: Adjust the brightness on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

All the best.
