microsoft outlook app - not showing notification PREVIEW on lock or unlock screen

I just got a notification on my locked screen about you reply Peter!! What seems to have made the difference is that I deleted my IMAP account in the Contacts section that is found in the settings area. Eventhough I had set Outlook to my default email app in Mail, it somehow conflicted. Previous to this I had tried everything you can imagine - reinstalling outlook, deleting and reconfiguring the mail account and ofcourse making sure everything was updated.

I am not sure why deleting the account in contacts worked, since outlook was set as default mail client, but it did. I am tempted to believe that eventhough Outlook was set as default, the new messages somehow was pulled by the internal mail handling code, and therefore somehow was not seen as "new" messages by outlook.

Hi, I just fixed the same problem. Try the following:

1. deleted email account from outlook app
2. then deleted outlook app
3. downloaded app again
4. add email account again

It works now! I hope this helps !

A few things to try...

Try changing Notification Banner Style to PERSISTENT. Go to Settings -> Notifications -> Outlook -> Banner Style -> PERSISTENT

If that doesn't work, check these settings...

Open the OUTLOOK app on your iPhone.

At the top, select Inbox. This should open your mailbox folders.

At the bottom left, select the gear icon (settings).

Make sure your mail, contacts, and calendar settings are correct.

You could try uninstalling and re-installing the app.

Have you tried restarting your iPhone?

I've tried several different things but the only one that really worked for me was deleting and reinstalling the App. It reminds me of that old joke "If Microsoft made cars…"

Btw, I had to do the same on Teams and Office Lens.

I can confirm that updating to IOS14.0.1 has resolved this issue.

Have you updated to the very latest OS version IOS14.0.1 as this has resolved the issue for me

Standard trick is delete the outlook app, restart the phone, reinstall the app, add the accounts back, check the notification settings.

Difficult to add more when mine works fine.

Seems crazy but I just simply powered off my phone and once powered back on it fixed the problem for me.

Restarting my phone did help in displaying correctly the message.

I have upgraded the IOS to 14.3 and issue got fixed

This worked for me.

Go to settings - outlook - notifications

At the bottom look for "show previews" and set it to always.

Try changing Notification Banner Style to PERSISTENT

Go to Settings -> Notifications -> Outlook -> Banner Style -> PERSISTENT

There should be.

Turn off Screen Tome

Or delete and reinstall the app
