Is anyone currently experiencing lag when typing within iMessage? It seems to happen every time I start typing a new message. Only occurs with the first ~3 letters and, once the lag catches up and those letters are typed, it returns to normal. I’m not sure if this is specific to me or possibly something associated with the new iOS 14 update.

Yup, same here. I’ve had the phone for a week and it just started. Going to waiting a few days and see if it doesn’t stop will contact apple for sure!
I am also experiencing the same problem and have just upgraded to iPhone 11 and it’s still happening

Does Apple know about this discussion? Is there any formal complaint?
They know. They’re just more concerned with removing parler then the millions of unhappy iPhone users.
Guess in the meantime I’ll head over to the “Why isn’t my Airdrop working on iPhone 11 when it worked perfectly on my iPhone 8” group lol.

I have to do this for every update of late.
Why is this marked solved? It is January 2021 and I am having the exact problem. It sometimes takes 5 seconds for iMessages to register what I just typed. iPhone X running iOS 14

we just had an update a couple of days ago and I haven’t had any more problems with the typing lag in the text app
Definitely not resolved. In my case, the lag never goes away. It’s awful. It processes barely two keystrokes a second.
