• Which exact make & model is this printer?
• ... which model is your iMac?
• ... and it is running macOS High Sierra (10.13) ... correct?
• Was this always an issue or just started happening recently?
• Have you tried another USB cable?
• Have you tried performing a "factory default" reset on this printer?
