iOS 14 sleep wake up alarm sound not working on iPhone

Since updating to iOS 14 on my iPhone XR and watchOS 7 on my Apple Watch Series 3, my Sleep/Wake Up alarm sound (Early Riser) does not work on my iPhone. My watch vibrates to wake me but there is no activity on my iPhone. Prior to the updates, my watch vibrated AND my phone sounded the alarm. I preferred that.

I have made sure that my volume is turned up on Sounds & Haptics under the Sleep app as well as under Settings. Do Not Disturb is set to end at my Wake Up time.

I too was having this Issue and it was driving me insane. I don't like wearing my watch when I sleep. I finally figured out how to turn it off from the watch and let it play through your phone!

Go into the clock app on your iPhone --> alarm/wake and click "change" --> click "edit schedule" --> scroll down and click "options"--> scroll down and click "manage sleep in the Apple Watch app --> scroll down and click "don't use this watch for alarm".

***NOTE: This will not vibrate your watch or play any part of the alarm through your watch! It will only play on your iPhone***

Thanks for including the link to Product Feedback. Everyone on this thread (and their friends, family, neighbors) need to give this product feedback directly to Apple. Another suggestion to get their attention is to downgrade your app rating - they don’t really care about us little people, but they do care about their app ratings and their stock price. Talk with your ratings and your wallet!

Most people aren't having this problem. Which, unfortunately, means it's going to be harder for Apple to figure out where the cause (or probably multiple causes) lies.

I get the direction Apple is going with looping sleep onto the “wake up” alarm- but I really don’t know anyone who wears their watch to sleep. That’s just my experience- and it could be many people do. But, there has to be enough people out there who don’t sleep with it on, where these bugs would be an issue. I am really hoping Apple reaches out to try to identify the cause. Appreciate your perspective and info!

I am also having a version of this but it is even stranger. I have my iPhone and watch on chargers at night. Watch is set for silent like many here - I don’t want the dings during the day. I am not using the Sleep function under Health, but I have a daily alarm set for 7 a.m. So the alarm goes off at, with sound. If I leave the phone on the charger and hit snooze, the snooze alarm goes off again after 9 minutes. If I pull the phone off the charger and put it next to me and hit snooze, the snooze alarm doesn’t sound. I wake up a few minutes later, look at my phone and it says the alarm is going - the screen options are to stop or hit snooze. No sound, no vibration. Phone is not on silent, not on Do Not Disturb (that ends at 7 a.m. also). The watch will vibrate, but of course I can’t tell because it is on its charger. So it isn’t that the alarm isn’t really set - it does go off with sound initially.

I just started having this issue. I was late to work yesterday thanks to this. My phone was silent, yet no setting has been changed. I was not wearing my watch, it was on the charger. This morning was the same yet I happened to be wearing my watch, so it vibrated and woke me - no sound from the phone phone though. This needs a repair ASAP. If not, then where do I send the bill at Apple for the alarm clock that I'll need to purchase?
