Attempting to install Xcode; There is not enough disk space available to install the product

While attempting to install Xcode, I am getting this message:

We could not complete your purchase.
There is not enough disk space available to install the product.

Xcode shows that it is 11.2 GB.

This mac's only hard drive has 30.57 GB of free space.

How much free space do I need in order to successfully install Xcode?

Kind Regards,

Eric
