Airpod pros quiet when connected to laptop
Hi,
My airpod pros work fine when connected to my iphone. When connected to my windows 10 laptop they originally were at 100% volume permanently and did not respond to volume changes on the laptop. I found a help topic here that recommended disabling a max volume setting within the registry for bluetooth devices. This worked, and now allows me to control the volume of the airpod pros.
However, they are now very quiet even when the laptop volume is set to max. Even more confusingly this only happens when listening to music/videos. When using the airpods on a video call (successfully tested with zoom/teams/google meet/slack) they have a good volume level and it can be adjusted with the laptop volume control. When watching videos or listening to music (youtube/spotify tested) they respond to volume changes but are very quiet even at max.
Anybody have any ideas?
So far I have tried, unsuccessfully:
- forgetting/reconnecting the bluetooth connection
- resetting the airpods
- connecting to iphone, turning volume to max, then connecting to laptop
- restarting the laptop
- fully charging the airpods
In case it is useful, some details about the laptop:
- Lenovo thinkpad T480
- Windows 10 Pro
