Bluetooth not working on MacBook Air

Hi I've recently been having problems with the bluetooth on my MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017).

When I go into settings and click onto bluetooth, it just buffers and the whole settings application becomes unresponsive.

This problem doesn't occur when I navigate to a different area in settings instead, only bluetooth. I also have bluetooth in my menu bar and it doesn't work here either. I click on 'turn bluetooth off' or 'open bluetooth preferences' and nothing happens.

You can't see on the screenshot, but the cursor turns to the buffering cursor.

Anyone got any tips?
