Problem dragging a file from a finder window to an application in the dock.

I'm trying to drag an index file (html) from a finder window into the BBEdit icon in my dock. The finder freezes. Recently updated to MacOS Catalina.

Dock not accepting items from drag and drop. Greetings Apple community. after upgrading from Mojave to Catalina 10.15.4, my mid 2014 MacBook Pro 15 inch no longer allows to drag and drop items onto the dock. Have tried many ways including restarting, restarting in safe mode, then reverting back to normal mode. And finally resetting all dock preferences from the terminal app. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please provide some support. Cheers.

Finder Not Working In Catalina 10.15.6 All of a sudden, my finder icon has stopped working. When I click on the icon in my dock, nothing happens. I have to hold down the "Control" button and then click on it to access a menu that offers to open a "New Finder Window." Then it seems to work okay. However, when I click on the "Recents" folder in Finder, there is nothing there, even if I just took a screenshot or downloaded a photo or opened a pages document. I don't know if the two problems are related, but both have only started happening since the 10.15.6 update. Any idea what's happened or how to fix it? I have a mid-2015 MacBook Pro, Retina, 15-inch running (as stated above) Catalina 10.15.6 Thank you in advance for any help!

Downloads from Safari no longer bounce on Dock once Completed Noticed after the most recent Mac update, once I complete a download from Safari, the file no longer bounces up and down from the dock's download folder. I loved that feature, since once it started bouncing, I could immediately grab that file and drag into a text or email. Now I have to double click and open the download folder and navigate to that file. Not a huge deal but would love to get the bounce feature back. Please help....

I noted that Catalina OS had an update. I updated and it seems to have solved my problem. Thank you for your help.

I tried that and it worked ok. Make sure both macOS and BBEdit are updated. I happened to use the page you're reading but I doubt that's relevant.

Then, please determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.
