Camera access (being hacked?) help!

I got a pop up saying: “(null)” is Using Camera Access to Control Connected Cameras. I will attach the screenshot I took. I accidentally clicked ok instead of settings. Does anyone know what this is? I am not sure if it’s an app or someone gaining access to my camera, audio, and files.

iPhone 7, iOS 14

Ok, I think I have cracked it.

So I was doing research on what (null) is and found another Apple support communities thread that was from someone who had had the same issue except with an app. And it turns out that the app hadn’t downloaded/synced properly with the phone so they reinstall and the app and it worked fine. And most of you are saying that you can’t open photos after seeing the message, so my thinking is that it is something to do with the photos app so my thinking is that if someone who had seen the message were to reinstall from the latest iCloud backup or maybe restart the device and that might help. I haven’t seen the message since restarting my iPad so I though it might work on other devices? Let me know if it works.

Cheers.

Let me clear up you’re confusion.

Null is something used by Apple code to signify a digital message, if my memory is serving.

You may be correct on:

However, I looked up and saw that iOS 14 has new security features where this same message I had attached shows up, but it is usually an app you may have like lets say Picsart - just like the example I saw on the webpage. It shows this message when an app is using camera access without your consent. I am not sure if it’s an app that may have not installed or deleted properly, or if it’s something to cause concern.

I have had this exact problem with the null message. Initially I thought it was just a glitch because my phone was very hot after charging aswell as being on FaceTime. However minutes after I put one of my airpods in and I’m not sure if it was my Spotify lagging or something but I heard a distorted voice say something and it has made me scared to go to sleep now. It has made me feel a bit like I am party of the next “unfriended” film which is one of my biggest fears. I am sure it’s nothing but if anyone could get back to me with reassurance asap that would be very helpful. Thanks

The same thing happened to me too! Actually it happened twice:(

The first time it happened, i was in school and my friends and i were airdropping pictures (so my bluetooth was on).

The second time i was at home listening to music via a bluetooth speaker (so my bluetooth was on again!)

This makes me rlly rlly scared!! Why doesn’t apple want to help us all? Did they ever find out anything???

Interesting you would mention Bluetooth… after factory reset some of the devices try to hook up to something right away and I don’t use Bluetooth for anything (he kept wanting me to use it though last year we were together and the devices he bought were Bluetooth controllers…

what would happen if there’s Bluetooth device in the house that the accounts are attached too?
