iOS 14.0.1 Phone app notification badge does not go away
I suspect the problem is happening because I answered a phone call via Google Hangouts on the mac, and the phone's missed call is somehow hidden. I've tried all the voodoo remedies I could find, all these didn't work:
- Looking at the contacts
- Looking at the `all` section and the `missed` section
- Deleting missed calls
- Opening facetime
- Disabling phone app's notifications, waiting a minute, and re-enabling them
- Going into airplane mode for a minute and then coming out.
The only thing that works to clear the notification badge is turning the phone off and on.
I'm on iOS 14.0.1 but this seems to be a problem as old as time.

OH SNAP I FIGURED IT OUT AS I'M WRITING THIS. I had to go to the Google Fi app, and look at the Voice Mail tab, there was one unread there. The Phone app's voicemail section had nothing in it, and the Google Fi app did not have any badge. There was no way for me to figure this out. The only clue was that when I went out of airplane mode the phone tried to call my voice mail provider for some reason.
Apple, there's been at least 3,800 votes on the above issues. Please fix this mystery phone-app notification whack-a-mole game.
