MacBook Pro 2019 15 inch - Gets very hot! (Above 85 C)

I have a MacBook Pro 2019 15 inch with i7 2.6GHz 6 Core - 16GB RAM - 256GB SSD.

I bought it October 2019. So the device is nearly 1 year old and I have still got warranty.

By the way I returned the same model TWICE because of overheating and got another one in 2019. I couldn't return the current device no more because I needed it for work and I am overly frustrated.

The device I currently have overheats. I used macOS Mojave and macOS Catalina 10.15.5.

  1. I did the SMC resetting several times.
  2. I use my laptop in room temperature (near 25C) and on a flat surface, a desk.
  3. I make sure that the air intakes and outtakes are clear, no dirt nor anything.
  4. I tested the situation while both using with charger on and with battery.
  5. I checked the surface temperatures with a dedicated thermometer pointing A: the surface just between the Touch Bar and the screen hinge. B: the surface on the back cover under the device. So the temperature is about 60 C degrees.
  6. I checked the internal temperatures with the app "Macs Fan Control" (which I use for overriding the controlling of the 2 fans of the device). It shows above 85 C degrees.
  7. The overheating can happen even the device is just turned on, while on the pin code screen of user account.
  8. The overheating can happen while no CPU intensive apps are open. Actually when no apps are open including Safari, Finder, etc.
  9. If I don't use the Macs Fan Control app, the fans do not even run in high speed. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE from Apple...

  12. Mac'inizin SMC'sini sıfırlama - Apple Destek
  13. Do not offer me those links because I have red all of them several times since last year.

I don't have any solution in my mind nor I don't want to take my device to the Apple Store Service anymore.

I just want to say that is the current working temperatures acceptable for a device like MacBook Pro? It is like Apple is just kidding with us...

I can handle the high temperatures myself, I can resist to it. However, I want to know that how a device like this can produce such high temperatures (and drains the battery very fast during)?

I am a mechanical engineer so I know by profession that working on high temperatures obviously harms the lifetime of an electronic device. This is unacceptable.

Also the bottom left side of the metal body case of the MacBook Pro was assembled a bit off. (I mean the bottom back of the device, back side of the left speaker has an over spacing ). The right side, on the other hand, was assembled nice and there is no over spacing and the gap is nice. So the left side makes noise when pushed slightly because of the gap and it is very annoying.

I love the MacOS and I need Xcode for my business. Apple makes great software and it makes me very productive. The screen, CPU power, battery endurance are really well. I must admit and I admire.

However, as far as I know the experience of other MacBook Pro 2019 owners besides my own experience, this device has serious heating issues and Apple doesn't seem to care about it. Period.

No @John Galt is correct that normal operating temperature for the recent Apple laptops is 60C to 85C. Idle temperature should be around 40C to 50C while the system can run at 100C when all the CPU cores are running at full.

Run the Apple Diagnostics to make sure the cooling system is operating properly.

If the Apple Diagnostics don't find a problem with the cooling system, then you most likely have a software issue. Run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper. Maybe we will see some software that is installed that may be contributing to the higher idle temperatures.
