Touchscreen acting strange after iOS 14 update

Same here. No issues after screen replacement in my iPhone X and now nothing at with iPhone 12. I think we are talking about different issues though. Mine was just that the screen wasn’t responsive in some areas after iOS 14 upgrade.

In any case, Apple support doesn’t review these forums so escalate when you call them until you get your issues resolved.

Ask Apple that. I’m only saying what fixed it for me. Had problems since upgrading to IOS14. A replacement screen fixed the issue.

If it’s a problem with the screen, why does it happen with my iPhone 12 pro, my iPad, and the previous iPhone X? We all have defective screens? And why did this start after the iOS 14 update ?

Unfortunately that’s the fix. Apple are replacing screens on the iPhone XS, but for some reason they’re not doing FOC replacements on the XS Max. It’s the same issue.

I kept on contacting them, so in the end they admired it’s a problem with the screen and replaced it at their expense.

Replace the whole screen!? That’s bs!!!!!

The only way to fix this is a screen replacement. I had this issue and after constantly getting onto Apple, I got a replacement screen after 4 months. Been fine since.

Apple know about this but will not admit it.

So I have found the only way of temporarily fixing it is to lock my screen and then I can unlock my iPhone and it’s back to normal but is Apple going to resolve this issue? Anytime I slide up to go to a different page or open a different app it stays on that blank screen like I’m sliding up then like I said I had to lock my iPhone and then unlock it and I can go back to doing what I’m doing

This issue with the touch screen freezing is very annoying. I think we all need to think about buying new phones that are not made by apple. They don’t seem to care about the problems we’re having. Updates are slowly killing my iphone. I won’t be buying another iPhone.

I have the same issue, fully restored the phone and nothing.

At least it comes and goes.

Every time I'm waiting for the new update with hope that this time it would be solved, but actually the first day after upgrade is the worst, than the issue becomes more occasional.

There is no solution that we can do. There needs to be an iOS update that will address this specific issue so that it stops occurring. My keyboard settings have ‘slide to type’ toggled off, but yet I still experience the touchscreen issues.

I have the iPhone XS MAX and I also experience the "ghost" touch issue.

Did anyone found a solution for this issue?

Are there any lawsuits regarding this issue?

Very odd that Apple has a repair program for the iPhone X but not other iPhones with the exact symptoms.

I had a chat with Apple support and they suggested to :

"Can you please go into your keyboard settings (settings-general-keyboard) and disable the slide to type function and restart the device and check how it goes."

I can only guess Apple knows about this issue and ignores the customers.

my iphone 8+ continues to get worse. Even with following trouble shooting suggestions, and Apple IOS updates.

i touch to type anything, and my screen goes spastic. It types ambiguous characters, it calls someone in my contacts list, it opens a different app, or it opens an a contact in edit mode.

this is very frustrating!!
