iOS 14 and iOS 14.0.1 Sound Issues

i am having a issue with my Lock sound Volume! Since iOS 14.0.1, sometimes it’s loud and sometimes it’s quiet, like if I play music or watch a video on YouTube then lock the phone it’s loud (Normal) then if I just put the phone down and leave for a few mins the lock sound goes low!.

anyone having this issue?.

Not really. The only other really frustrating problem is while typing text messages it freezes. So I will type like 2 words and it’s frozen and won’t write it and then all of a sudden it types what I wrote. I didn’t explain that well but it’s like a freeze after 1 letter and then it will “catch up”. Just really annoying

Same issue here since I updated to ios 14 or 14.01

Nothing worked to fix it. I still cannot user the ear speaker to talk with someone, I have to use a headset or the loud speaker that is annoying (specially when I'm at my office). Hopefully the next update will fix it, that sucks indeed.

This is the most ridiculous answer Apple could provide to fix this issue. I simply refuse to spend hours resetting my phone and get the iCloud backups plus 300Gb of music I have on my phone. I demand an firmware update that fixes the issue on my iPhone Xs Max. The iOS 14 upgrade to my iPhone 8 Plus didn’t mess with the sound.

Did you restart it by doing the volume up the volume down then holding the power button until the Apple logo showed up? Or just hold down the power button? Or did it from settings? If it helped I want to do it but I want to know which way you did it. Thanks!

Well, I posted a comment on Facebook asking if any of my friends had experienced the "low volume" issue on their Iphone following the iOS 14 upgrade, and that Apple Support was no help and that I had tried ALL of the suggestions, short of replacing my phone. The very next phone call I received, everything is working fine now. Coincidence? or just Luck?

Apple what a shame. My ear speaker is so low since I updated my iPhone X with IOS 14.0.1, that's ridiculous, I cannot hear anyone. I have to open the speaker to listen someone. And no update to fix it yet....well....

No, for me increased the issues. Wifi up and down and not network. People all of sudden cannot hear me on call. (Cleaned the mic as noted above - no difference) when I call someone every first time it fails and I have to call people twice to make a call.

in summary no don’t upgrade to 14.1 as now my phone is just very annoying and having to use landline as a result and computer for internet. Virtually ruined my use of it.

I have the same problem, it is make me really upset.

Last time, with some update i think it was ios 12, i lost the batteries of my iphone 5, iphone 6 and iphone 6 plus, immeditely after making the update. I went to Apple store they said it wasn't from the update version!!!!!

After updating to 14.1, i lost the sounds in my iphone 7, I thought it was from the headset, ( i tried to cleaned, i destroyed) I now I cannot use my iphone 7 because of this problem. If apple will not fix this problem, i will not use iphones any more.

Also I was meant to get a Phone Call Back this week! From Apple regarding this issue from someone called Eileen based in Ireland!, can’t see that happening!.

Multi Billion Dollar Company and cant even give your customers who buy your overpriced products the decency of a call back!.

Was thinking about upgrading my current Handset (11 Pro) to the 12 but think I’ll leave it now!.

I am having the same issue. My volume is insanely loud, even with the settings super low. It’s also sporadic as to how loud it wants to be. It’s so unpredictable that I am either jumping out of bed from blaring alarms or sleeping through them. They need to fix this. It’s only been doing it since the most recent update.

i am in the exact same boat and I have been a huge Apple supporter but maybe Android is better because I haven’t ever heard of this problem with anything else and my music is everything and it doesn’t sound like it is at half volume when I put it to max with beats earbuds and headphones

I was just signing in to say the same thing. 11 pro max here. Was perfect until ios14. Also recording video is terrible. You hear all this feedback from moving the phone very slightly. That typical bumpy sound you despise in home recordings. Wasn’t there before. I have to put all calls on speakerphone or I can’t hear the caller at all.

Having the same issues as agerson24...

one text will be fine, then I lock my phone and BOOM!! The lock sound ‘sounds’ like the speaker cracked!! I checked all volume settings, and all levels are at the lowest possible. (Set to adjust with volume buttons as well)

should have known when I saw “this update assists with ApplePods...” that I should have held off... I don’t have any applepods !!

crappy update Apple considering this doesn’t assist all of your clients! Did you even test the update with iPhone Xs??

hoping you get a fix to this b4 my speakers get blown!! But not holding my breath considering these sound issues have been going on for some time now!

I’m having the same issue and apple doesn’t seem to understand what the **** is going on. They sent me like 7 articles about how to fix everything but the issue I’m having. I’ve been using the plug in the phone ear buds in order to hear. I ordered a new phone today only because I had insurance. I’m done with apple’s ******** when my contract expires.
