iOS 14 and iOS 14.0.1 Sound Issues

Glad you were able to get a replacement. Do you have AppleCare? I do not. I have owned an iPhone since 2011, and this is the first problem I've ever encountered. It's a software error period! Have a good day.

Ever since updating to iOS 14 and iOS 14.0.1, I’ve had sound issues with the iPhone 11 Pro. Sound volume is extremely low for calls on speakerphone, watching YouTube videos, and listening to music.

Has anyone else experienced these issues?

I’ve had a problem since the release of 14.0 where my audio for different sounds, other than text and ringer, say like when someone sends me a SnapChat, or when I react to something on Facebook, or even the shutter sound for the camera gets super loud for a couple seconds then goes back to normal.. I can tell it’s a glitch because. Happens more than once throughout the day and sometimes it scares me cause I don’t know when it’ll do it. It’s not my volume because it’s at either a really low volume or in the middle, never turned all the way up. I’ve tried doing a factory reset then restore but did nothing. Clearing RAM/Cache doesn’t work either. I was hoping that 14.0.1 would fix it , but it didn’t. It still happens. I hope a future update fixes this soon because I hate when it happens.

Be careful as the sudden onset of your volume can destroy your speakers. Mine are crackling now. This is all because of an update. One update they can't fix and it's taking a toll on my phone.

Just back from apple service center and they give me the answer hardware problem and I ask back how come I revert back iOS 13 won’t have this problem and they give the answer “hidden hardware failure”

Since everything I type is moderated by the powers that be and deleted, I would like to agree with you. This iPhone 11 Pro Max is a piece of junk now! Thank you to all who delete post and cannot help the many people here struggling with us!

Updated to 14.2 and still have the sound issue on phone calls only. The volume is really low so have to resort to using the speaker to hear what the caller is saying.

Apple don’t seem to be dealing with the issue

True, 90% of my calls are on hands free in my during the day, the rest are probably in a noisy environment so I didn’t notice.

I did the iOS update when i was off work and assumed it was that! Glad it’s sorted now and had I missed your post, I would still be cursing Apple

Everything you have suggested we have done. I've changed every setting I can possibly change. And when I'm speaking on the phone with just my speakerphone, and a text message comes in, it screams at me. When I'm in the car, I can't hear anybody talking through the car speakers and the volume is all the way up. Turned off automatic cancellation still the same.

I’m also facing the same issue after 14.1 update. My phone volume is very less when I play YouTube videos music and other stuffs on my iPhone X. It was pretty good before iOS 14 update. Even I’m hearing less sound when using head phone. The actual sound is only half of the sound when it was before the software update. Some help me to fix this.

Found more issues with update.

1) I had voicemail to text, which was awesome to read my voicemail in text rather than call in to hear voicemail - Gone.

2) If my phone's screen is left on and a new email comes in it used to show "1" "2" etc. emails so I knew I had a new email - Gone.

Now I have to check my email to see if a new one came in BRUTAL the worst update Apple has ever done. It ruined so many things in one update. Fix it fast please.

I just downloaded the newest iOS yesterday 14.2 I believe and it didn’t fix the volume either. They do not care. And this is on their official website and not some obscure forum on the internet and they won’t even acknowledge it

Agerson24, so frustrating. All the issues have been pointed out. How hard would it be for their IT personal to fix it in a day or two. You're right, they don't care..........talk about buying their newest iPhone, then they'll reply. They stand to lose a lot of customers.

Screenivas99 That doesn't work. Nothing does, the update needs patches for all the above complaints. Leotran 91 has had a Miracle as he's the only one the latest update worked for? How the heck is that possible?

It's not just earbuds, it's the ear piece, in the car on Bluetooth! Its all the time. And when you go to open up a text message and you're receiving another text message it starts to Blare! It's a problem snd I'm sick of it! Shame on Apple!
