Apple Watch 4 Activity App not working

Watch updated to version 7.0 worked fine for days, now the activity app won't load or record anything. Updated to 7.0.1 same problem. Now happening on wife's watch as well. Have erased watch and re-paired it, still happening.

I resolved this issue a week ago. Support suggested I erase the watch and then my phone. Figured I would go halfway as doing the phone is a major thing.


I unpaired the watch and re-paired it but did not restore from a backup. This brought the activity App back into full functionality. Definitely a software issue.
