I need to set up a new apple ID for one the phones

I have two phones using the same apple ID and this has created a lot of problems because both phone received the same phone call or texts or display the same To do list or calendars even thought the phone numbes are different. I called my carrier, Altice, and they told me that I have to create a new apple ID for one of the phones. How can this be done?
