iPad Mini 4 mainboard component 'burned'.

While charging my Mini 4 (21 months old) it apparently overheated and stopped working. A certified repair tech investigated and found that a component on the 'motherboard' had 'burned/exploded'.

I still owe a bit on the purchase and am disappointed in this short life span.

As well I tried to revert back to my previous iPad Mini, Version 1 but most of the newer apps I had been using will not download because the OS is too old(and of course can not be updated) and also many of the apps I had already installed on this old mini have stopped working. Just an incredible product evolution. I have purchased 3 iPads and they are all effectively useless. Two are obsolete and the newest one just burned up.

Do I have any recourse here or do I just chalk this up to how Apple got to be the most valuable company in the world?
