I keep getting pop ups on my phone to enter verification codes. I have received text messages with codes but I haven’t been trying to change anything so I think someone is trying to hack my account.

How can I protect my phone better? I keep getting message because someone is trying to hack my phone and now it says my number is being used in another phone for iMessage and FaceTime

Check your device list to see if there is a device signed in that you don't recognize. You can remove the device using the steps in the article below. As a precaution, change your password.

Apple ID device list -Check to see where you‘re signed in.

 Apple ID Password Change.

What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support     I suggest doing this before you change your Apple ID or password.

Someone may be trying to sign your Apple ID, which would generate the request for a verification code. Since you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, as long as they can't access one of your trusted devices, they can't get a code, and sign in. You should be okay.
