Ever since I updated my iPhone to iOS 14 I can’t see lyrics anymore on Apple Music. Just before the update I could see the lyrics on the same songs, but ever since the update it stopped. What’s the problem? Is there a solution for this?

One thing that I ask is PLEASE NO ONE MARK “Problem Solved”!!!! The problem IS NOT SOLVED. Right now there is a glitch in Apple Music that the only way you can see the lyrics is by “Turning Increase Contrast OFF” (which btw I always turn on and have since it was an option years ago.) I’ll put a pic in of the difference. People are writing PROBLEM SOLVED BUT ITS NOT SOLVED. You have to turn another useful function of your iPhone off so lyrics come up on the Apple Music App. Very weird and I’m VERY SURPRISED that APPLE HAS NOT FIXED THIS YET!!!! I woke up with a 14.2.1 update and I was thinking 🤔 “ok this has to fix it because people have been complaining about it since iOS14 came out”. STILL NO FIX!!!! So if everyone could keep writing to Apple they are gonna fix it because that’s why I get Apple Music, it has the lyrics!!!
The 1st picture is what you have to turn off for lyrics to work. And I put a 2nd pic under to show u what your screens look like without increase contrast on!!!! APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS BAD. Needs to be their #1 priority.
The issue has been fixed in iOS 14.2 update
This fixes it
Settings>Accessibility >Display Text & Size> Then turn off Increase Contrast
Turn dark mode on it will show. Hopefully they fix this bug in the coming update
It’s exactly the same issue for me and once I turned my display brightness into permanent dark mode which makes the background black instead of white, the lyrics work great but would not work at all in light mode. So friggin stupid but that’s the cure!
I can confirm that with the public beta of iOS 14.3 installed on my iPhone 12 Pro, the problem I was having (lyrics not showing when Light mode is on and Increase Contrast is also on) has been fixed. I have my phone in Light mode and I have Increase Contrast turned ON and lyrics are showing just fine.
This was happening to me too, I decided to change my phone to dark mode and it fixed the problem! Hope this works for you!
Mine did the same but I just did a hard restart on my phone and it came back for me. I hope it works for you y’all!
The increase contrast setting when turned off worked for me.
in the song. Click the three dots on The middle right then click view full lyrics. This worked for me, as a workaround until they resolve the issue.
Putting the phone in dark mode actually does work for me on iPhone 11. And now I’ve put shortcut on pull down screen to switch it so it’s a bit easier!
Turning off high contrast worked for me. Interesting. 🤔
On the left side all the way at the bottom, there is a message like icon. That’s how they come back
I FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE EXPLICIT MUSIC PROBLEM!!! Trust me it sounds silly but it’s not a joke, it helped me and many others in another forum. “Thank you for sharing your issue on apple support communities
If you can play explicit songs but only cant see the lyrics please try these steps and let me the results after you do.
-Close music app in backround
-Open apple books app
-If u dont have download from AppStore
-Search for Oliver Twist book by Charles Dickens
-Open book , you dont need to download, just tap sample button and swipe 10-15 pages
-Then open music app and play explicit song and tap lyrics button , then booom , its a magic 😂 I hope i will work for you. Please let me know your issue , after you try these steps. Take care!”
If you read the thread more carefully you’ll see that this problem doesn’t have a solution. Unfortunately it’s a bug that apple has yet to fix. There are two different bugs with lyrics: One where the problem is with the contrast, and another with explicit songs. You can’t see lyrics on explicit songs and you’ll just have to wait until apple fixes this.
No you don’t have to wait if it’s only explicit music, After 3 months, it’s finally fixed. If you can play explicit songs but only cant see the lyrics please try these steps
