Where are TextEdit Preferences on Mojave?

For .txt, Quicklook is displaying the text inverted even though I only use "Light Mode".

I am unable to find TextEdit preferences in ~/Library/Preferences/

, in order to test if deleting it will help.

Did the TestEdit preference file move somewhere else in Mojave?

A similar query for Sierra states it should be there:

Ahah! I think I understand why this is happening (but don't know how to stop it). I have another Text Editor installed, called TextMate. This uses syntax highlighting and also the default theme is light text on dark as the typing interface. I think this application must have taken control of the QuickLook preferences for all .txt files!

Do you think this is possible to fix?

It is a clean install (the 2018 mini only runs Mojave).

I use Light mode in macOS exclusively. There are no options in TextEdit to change from dark to light that I can see. In any case, the problem arises ONLY when I use "QuickLook" to view a .txt file.

Perhaps the problem is not with TextEdit itself but with QuickLook or Light/Dark mode preferences. But how would I reset these? QuickLook seems to work correctly for all other file types (i.e. they are all displayed as non-inverted previews, as expected).

Indeed, if I change the default view for TextMate to a dark on light option, the QuickLook is now also dark on light text!

However...I don't have TextMate set as the default application for opening .txt files! TextEdit is the default application, so I am perplexed why this is overwriting the QuickLook preferences for .txt files.
