Apple Watch Turns off during workout

First off, I have an original series 3 running watchOS7.

I am having a lot of the same issues as other users with random restarts throughout the day and GPS data not being tracked while running or cycling either in the Workout app or the Strava AppleWatch app. I have tried turning it off and on, unpairing and restoring from backup, unpairing and restoring as new, none of it has helped....

However, the past 3 days I have noticed a little more consistency. I have used the workout app for my runs each of the past 3 day, made sure the watch fully disconnected from the phone and GPS icon was blue and active. I use the podcasts app while running and a set of bluetooth headphones.

Right around the 40 minute mark of the run, the watch turns off. It has been consistent for 3 straight days now that this has occurred. Not sure why around 40 minutes, but all 3 times thats where I've been. Then when I restart the watch, the workout app has continued to log the time, but not distance. I still get no GPS map data when I sync with my iPhone after the run.

So above is the objective data and issues. Now I'm going to rant. I wore my 5 year old TomTom Spark 3 on my other wrist today, and it logged my run perfectly. Paces were exact, time and distance were correct, and I even got my GPS map!! I bought that watch for around $100 5 YEARS AGO AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY!! Yet my $400 Apple (best on the market, "it just works") smart watch can't even function as a basic fitness watch right now... C'mon Apple, you're better than this crap!!

Update to above: My watch turned off 3 times during my run today. Each time it showed the red charge logo and the time in green (Same indicator I get when the battery dies). I turned it back on and the battery was at 50% the first time. Did it again less than 5 minutes later, same steps, battery said 43% when it came back on. Third time was about 5 minutes again, came back at 34%.

According to my TomTom watch, it shorted me .75 miles of distance, and I still got no GPS data once I uploaded it from the Apple Watch.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I love my Apple Watch, but the fact that I can't use it for any fitness activities make it darn near useless to me.
