iPhone XR shuts down at 30% After updating to IOS 14

I have a similar problem, but my XR is older. Recently it just re-boots and will not come back on until it has charged a little. The battery shows as 30% very quickly. Battery health is 91%

I also have a problem with the audio level when used as a normal phone (not hands free). Is has gone quiet. It works well "hands free" which is the way I now have to use it for calls.

No it didn’t work. Contacted Apple getting it repaired. I did the update to 14.4.1. No luck. But the phone now won’t charge to 100% only 99.% At moment it switches off around 50% after the update. Maybe people’s suggestions might work. I couldn’t get the battery to drain as phone switches off at 40%. My warranty runs out next week so I didn’t want to keep messing around with it

thanx for your reply. It’s 98% health. I’ve also reset iPhone back to factory settings and started phone again from new made no difference. Charging to 100% now to see that works...

Did it work? so I can try it too, I don’t wanna throw it away cause I bought it in October 2020

So do I update to 14.4 then use it till it’s 0% and then charge it fully without using it? If so, how do I drain my battery if it keeps turning off at 40%?

It’s finally working now it can go down below 20% thanks so much , also is this like a one time thing or will it keep happening?

No I couldn’t get it sorted which then made me lead to buying a new iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 doesn’t have this issue at all. Nothing was helping my iPhone XR at all not even apple. Your phone should be in warranty if you’ve only just bought it. Why don’t you take it to apple and explain the issue and maybe even show them this chat so they have a good understanding of the issue. They might be able to help you then.
