iphone trouble

hi my boyfriend was trying to facetime me and it didn’t go through but now his whole screen is not showing up anand it won’t even let him swipe off of that nor will it let him reset his phone

non working phone after Facetime I finished a Facetime call with a friend in the USA and a small black square remained after the call in the top right of my screen. Nothing on my phone (iphone XR) will now work. I can't turn it off, apps press but don't function and I can't get rid of the black square which is now the same size as my screen! Has anyone experienced this and how do I get rid of the black screen? Thanks

iphone 11pro locked up after using Facetime I have a iphone 11 pro. I called my wife using facetime to have a visual conversation but She picked up using her cars steering wheel controls so there was only an audible conversation then she hung up. since that time I cant open any apps on the screen, use the RHS button, cant reboot. I can delete apps and appears I can open facetime but screen is cloudy grey (as if its opened but nothing on screen) deleted FT and FB but still no operation of the screen apps or the RHS button? Any suggestions ? I want to avoid doing a hard reboot if possible. Regards Branxton3
