ios 14.0.1 update is a mistake

How can I regain access to sending imessages while talking on the telephone. After I updated to ios 14.0.1 anytime I'm on a telephone call an orange dot appears above my reception bars and I am no longer able to send imessages during conversations, only text messages and that's only if it doesn't give me an error. I was able to send and receive Imessages previous to the ios 14.0.1 update. How do I go back to previous ios or correct this problem?

If you don't mean text messages, what kind of messages do you mean? What is the error message you're getting? Are you using the Messages app? Or something different?

All the orange dot means is that there is an app accessing the microphone. As the Phone app has always accessed the microphone, nothing has really changed.

Going back to the previous OS is not an option. Correcting the problem will depend on figure out what the problem is.

Maybe I should have said previous to updating to the ios 14.0.1 I was able to simultaneously talk and send iMessages (color blue) to other iphone users instead it's only giving me the option of sending text/SMS messages (color green) while talking. That was not an issue previously. I've researched and gathered what the orange dot means but it wasn't visible until the new update. I've asked my husband to not to update his phone since he's not experiencing these problems. None of the issues I'm presenting are a problem for him since he hasn't updated to the new ios.

The orange dot is not relevant.

I would suggest that you try resetting your network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

There's nothing about iOS 14.0.1 that should prevent you from sending iMessages while you're on the phone. If there was, it would be all over these forums.
