Not able to erase a volume

When I try to delete the entire volume using disk utility during MacOS recovery, it gets stuck on "Erasing APFS volume group" I left it for 7 hours and nothing happened. I was forced to turn it off and when backed on, normal log on screen as nothing happened. See the print screen below, the fan runs as crazy like the computer is taking off but, nothing.

I restarted in Recovery mode to reinstall Ventura, but was unable to do so because the volume could not be unmounted. What to do when Disk Utility seems stuck Disk Utility seems to be stuck trying to delete a volume. I'm trying to wipe an old Time Machine drive. It took a hugely long timing erasing an xART session and now it's stuck deleting the only volume on the disk. What do you do when this happens? I could force reboot, but I'm afraid the drive will be damaged. How long do you leave it? it's been doing this process for more than an hour. Thanks very much.

Attempts to erase 'APFS volume group' (or each volume) results in internal error (-69623) My APFS volume group named macOS SSD have become corrupted and I wish to start over again with a newly wiped drive. Attempts at deleting APFS Volume "macOS SSDD" or "macOS SSDD - Data" or both as a volume group are always met with the error: "Deleting APFS Volume “macOS SSD - Data” Deleting APFS Volume from its APFS Container Unmounting disk2s1 Erasing any xART session referenced by 954087A7-D98A-4AB2-9D5C-769660303942 Deleting Volume An internal error has occurred. : (-69623) Operation failed... " Apple Support seems to think it must be a hardware issue. My thinking is that if I could somehow erase the drive (some 'nuclear option' in terminal) and take it back to its original condition then I could reinstall it all over again. Does anyone know my options here?

Erase the whole physical drive instead:

Are you booted from a Catalina install media to erase the Mac side?

What item did you select in the left pane of Disk Utility to erase?

Sometimes erasing the whole physical drive is the only way to do it.

This is one of the dangers of dual booting.

I booted with Recovery tool.

I select exactly the erase APFS volume group for the entire Mac Partition. Nothing happened.

I can’t... I have a bootcamp partition running Windows 10 for specific reasons.
