I have multiple Airpods associated to my account. Can I choose which devices they can connect to?

My wife and I started out sharing an apple account years ago as that seemed a good idea at the time.

We could have our Photos together and purchases.

Now a few years later we have more and more services and devices available and connected to our mutual account and has started to become a problem.

we both have Airpods and they keep connecting to each other devices since the last update. Don’t get me wrong I love that my Airpods now easily switch between my iPad, Mac and iPhone. But I don’t like it to switch to my wives devices and vise versa.

I tried removing her pods from my device but that removed them everywhere 😂. Not good.

is it possible to assign devices to them? So they can only switch between those devices?
