Ipod shuffle (3rd gen) is not switching on

Dears,

My Ipod Ipod shuffle (3rd gen) is not switching on. However it is getting detected when connected to Laptop and showing in Itunes also. But when taken out it is not showing the status light hence seems not switching on. Please advise if it is an battery problem and if so can I get a spare one as am not sure if apple service still support this model for repair.
