the My Photo Stream folder does not appear in Photos on my Mac. i have an internet connection, have turned on iCloud, but there there is no album or button in Preferences for My Photo Stream like is shown in the Apple Support articles. how do i get the My Photo Stream option and album to show up. My Photo Stream works well on my iPhone and iPad.

If you have iCloud Library enabled that disables My Photo Stream because that would produce duplicates on the devices.
