I understand that the last update was supposed to fix the keyboard lag but mine is still doing it constantly. Especially if I haven’t been on iPhone for awhile and I go to text someone, I can literally almost spell a word before it finally shows what I texted. Also, my letters sometimes get stuck on keyboard. It all seemed to have problems since iOS 14. Anyone else having the same issue since the recent update was supposed to fix it?

So I just had it happen again in WhatsApp while a notification banner for tinder came up. So it's not just iMessage anymore. It must have something to do with all notifications. I've turned off banner notifications and that doesn't do anything. It's like the stock keyboard can't multitask and freezes as a notification comes in. It's absolutely ridiculous we are two versions into 14 and it hasn't even been addressed by this garbage company.
This does not work. This lag is still there in 14.1 and apparently all the new betas. Apple refuses to fix it.
And I personally am trying 14.2 and guess what? It’s there too. Apple is trash.
I’ve had the same exact issue. I downloaded iOS 14.2 last night, let’s see if they put in a fix for it.
They didn’t. It happened to me immediately after upgrading.

That didn’t work for me - tried twice. Any other suggestions? If I text, there is no problem, it’s on the Notes I’m having lagging keystrokes.
I just got a brand new iPhone 11 to replace my XR and it still does this on 14.2. This is ridiculous
Try and Force Restart your iPhone exactly as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:
