Fake airpods dangerous?

So I’m seeing a huge uptick in fake airpods on eBay lately. I’ve ordered 3 AirPods Pro from different sellers claiming they were real and authentic even with some positive feedback saying they were good. Plus I paid between $160-180 for them so it wasn’t a too good to be true price IMO. When I got them, they were nearly one to one of the real think besides a few differences. The box had crooked labels, the case didn’t have the diffused front light and the serial check came up as replaced even though it was cellophane wrapped with the pull tabs. Anyway I sent 2 back and got refunded and the third one just refunded me before I could print out a shipping label (still left negative reviews on all) anyway now I have a set of the fake airpods but it cost them money so I don’t feel bad about it. My question is, these are probably running some suspicious hardware inside, can they be used to hack my iPhone on iOS 14 via Bluetooth and extract information some how? Btw it functions like the real deal through the os, pop up, rename, find my, anc and transparency etc. so iOS believes they’re real? I don’t know how or why that’s possible.
