I want to boot from usb with Catalina installer on my MacBook Pro 2020 and get the circle with slash.

Just to clarify, 2020 MBPs came pre-installed with Catalina 10.15.4. If the Bootable installer you created is an earlier version of Catalina it won't boot.
I mean is there a way to find out what version of Catalina installer I had downloaded that did not work. I just downloaded the 10.15.7 and it worked on the 2020 MacBook like u suggested, but it does nowhere state what version it is without installing it first.
Is the version of Catalina on the flash drive the same or newer than the one on your MBP?
The current version available is 10.15.7.

I just realized what you were asking. I don't remember if it's listed in the file "Contents" or not. I don't have a bootaable installer to check.

It states what version is available in the App Store. It should also list it in System Preferences > Software Update assuming you have an earlier version.

It can’t be both. And, it should be Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
